RACHEL/NICO

HOLIDAY CHALLENGE

And here we are again, with the Rachel/Nico comm's third Christmas! In general, PJO fandom has been somewhat, er, dead on livejournal in the past year or so, and unfortunately the same can as such be said for our community. However, we're optimistic that the holiday season may revive the comm's spirit with a fic or two, and as always this "challenge" is exceptionally laid back and as such any active and/or lurking members of the comm should feel free to participate at their leisure. However, myself and sunburst_city encourage everyone to participate in one way or another, even if that means just a prompt for old time's sake.

The rules are identical as always, but shall of course be copied below. We hope everyone enjoys this holiday season!

Rules

1. Post a prompt in the comments. It has to relate to Rachel and Nico in some way, although it does not have to be them together. As long as one of them is involved, you're good. Anon commenting will be on.

2. Post as many prompts as your heart desires, but please only post one prompt per comment. Still, submit as many as you can come up with.

3. Reply to a prompt comment with your fic/fanmix/icons/fanart you have created for it. Any fanwork is acceptable, and they can vary in length. Again, this is a fairly laid back challenge.

4. If your fanwork is a mix, please only place a 300x300 image of the cover art in the comment, giving a link to the rest of it. The same goes for art. If it's a fic, please make sure that if it's over 1,000 words, you link the rest as well. And for icons, please give a max of 3, and link! This is all just to keep everything nice and orderly.

5. Warn for any spoilers or adult concepts.

6. The deadline for this challenge is January 10th. After that date, nothing else (for this specifically) may be submitted. (But of course we encourage any fanworks at any time, and if you've created something for this challenge but cannot post it until after the tenth, feel free to say what your work was made for!

Crossposted onto tumblr!

sunburst_city made a couple of lovely banners for the challenge this year as well; feel free to share them!

Title: Solo
Characters/Pairings: Percy/Annabeth, Rachel/Nico, Persephone, Demeter, Original Character (mentioned gods; i.e., Apollo, Hades, etc.)
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Three times Percy tries to help Nico, and one time he does.
Notes: Because Percy and Nico's dynamic is the best dynamic, and all the women in their lives (human, half-human, and not at all human) are awesome? And, ir is a belated b-day gift for saturninepen. Also, the scene at the end of #3 is in part inspired by greenconverses' fic The Talk, which is hilarious. Enjooooy.

Here, on AO3~

Fandom(s): PJO (Greek Myth), Kane Chronicles
Title: Traces Left Behind
Characters/Pairings: Percy/Annabeth, Rachel/Nico, Persephone, Demeter, Hades, Set, Thoth, Anubis, Original Characters
Rating: PG-13
Summary: When a series of murders occur across Manhattan, Detectives Jackson and di Angelo are on the case. Apt, considering that these murders all seem to trace back to one very exclusive club, and one very elusive group of people – one that our heroes know all too well.

RACHEL/NICO

HOLIDAY CHALLENGE

It's that time of year again, and so sunburst_cityand I are holding the second Rachel/Nico Holiday Challenge here at our humble community! Just as it was last year, this is an incredibly lighthearted, stress free kind of challenge, and the rules are practically identical. It'd really be great if all members, old and new, would participate in one way or another, even if that means just leaving a prompt or two.

Rules

Again, this is a very laid back challenge.

4. If your fanwork is a mix, please only place a 300x300 image of the cover art in the comment, giving a link to the rest of it. The same goes for art. If it's a fic, please make sure that if it's over 1,000 words, you link the rest as well. And for icons, please give a max of 3, aaaaaand link! This is all just to keep everything nice and orderly.

5. Warn for any spoilers or adult concepts.

6. The deadline for this challenge is January 7th. After that date, nothing else (for this specifically) may be submitted.

We've made some pretty banners for the challenge once again, so feel free to share them as well/instead should you choose to pimp!

We hope you all choose to participate in one way or another, and happy holidays!

Title: The Three Possible Futures of Nico di Angelo (And How Rachel Dare is Responsible for Every One of Them)
Characters/Pairings: Nico di Angelo/Rachel Dare, slight Percy Jackson/Annabeth Chase
Word Count: ~4000
Summary: Behind every twenty-four-year-old half-Italian son of Hades is a redheaded Oracle who is the cause of his profession, and boy does Rachel never let him forget it.
Rating: PG-13

( “I blame Rachel. She brainwashed me. Planted information in my head every time she said some random art fun-fact and made sure it stayed there.” )

01 August 2012 @ 11:26 am
Title: One (Too Many)
Characters/Pairings: Rachel/Nico
Summary: He has taken her to a restaurant, given witness to her drunkenness, escorted her home, and gotten her safely back into her apartment. He is a good friend. He is paying her back for every time she's done this for him. He is victorious.
Rating: PG-13
Notes: Written for prompt #50: Oracle on the PJO yalit100 challenge. May actually have some insight somewhere in there or I'm crazy.

The last thing you do with a drunk and previously sad/angry/emotional person is argue with them.Collapse )

Title: The Six Staples of the Dare/di Angelo Household
Characters/Pairings: Nico/Rachel
Word Count: ~4000
Summary: Or ‘How Nico and Rachel manage to cohabit without killing each other.’ Because when it comes to the Oracle and the Ghost King living together, every day is bound to be exciting. That, or just irritating and/or mildly entertaining.
Rating: PG-13
A/N: Written for two things. One is for prompt #54: Quintessential on the PJatO yalit100 challenge. The second, as a (late like you won't believe) birthday gift to the wonderful lovelysolitude. M'dear, I love you, and I'm sorry I couldn't post this earlier.

"So, did I just meet the annoying roommate you've been bitching about, or was that your boyfriend?" "Definitely the annoying roommate." "You sure know how to pick 'em, Rach. Well, if you don't want him, can I keep him?"

(Also, there's crappy fanart for this here.)
